A new method for treating female pathology has been patented in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 10, 2026, 09:19 Society Gynecologists at Hospital No. 12 in the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod have developed and patented a new method for treating recurrent enteroceles—a pathology associated with the descent of pelvic organs.

      According to the medical institution, the condition often arises after surgeries to fix the uterus. In the case of recurrence, there is a repeat descent of the organs, which can be accompanied by significant discomfort, pain syndrome, and impaired bowel function.

      Traditionally, synthetic mesh implants are used to treat such patients. However, their use may be associated with a number of complications, including inflammatory processes and material rejection.

      The technology developed by Nizhny Novgorod specialists involves performing plastic surgery using the patient's own tissues without the installation of synthetic implants. According to the authors of the method, this allows for the elimination of organ descent and preservation of the patients' quality of life.
