Violations of the rights of Nizhny Novgorod residents have been identified in the sending of correspondence by mail.
On June 5, 2026, at 17:10, the Nizhny Novgorod FAS identified signs of violations of antimonopoly legislation in the actions of JSC "Russian Post." This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The reason was complaints from residents of the region about the refusal of branch employees to accept regular and registered letters through the operator windows.
According to the agency, customers were offered to independently process shipments through alternative service channels - the website, mobile application, or self-service areas. If they refused to use these methods, citizens were offered to send their mail at a higher rate.
The FAS noted that such actions could violate the rights and legitimate interests of consumers.
The antimonopoly authority issued a warning to the company. As part of this, "Russian Post" must issue a directive document prohibiting employees from restricting customers' right to choose the method of sending correspondence.
If the warning is not complied with, the agency will take responsive measures.
It was previously reported that 10 post offices are being modernized in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
