      The students of the social institution of the Balakhna urban district participated in the career guidance and patriotic event "A Day with the Police," dedicated to the 308th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian law enforcement agency. The event aimed to raise the level of legal literacy among the younger generation and strengthen trust in law enforcement agencies. As part of the event, young residents of the region were able to learn about the work of various police departments in the district. The deputy head of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Balakhna," Lieutenant Colonel of Police Ilya Utenkov, conducted a tour of one of the main departments of the agency – the duty unit. He informed the guests about the functions of the duty unit of the Internal Affairs Directorate regarding the established algorithm for responding to reports and statements from citizens about committed illegal acts. Junior inspector-cynologist of the cynological group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Warrant Officer Yulia Popova, told the children about the important role of dogs serving in the internal affairs agencies. The police officer informed the guests about training methods and the specifics of the service of four-legged partners. As an example, she demonstrated how her pets execute commands learned during general and special training courses, as well as showcased skills in searching for explosives and narcotic substances. In the courtyard of the department, the traffic police crew of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Balakhna" reminded the children about the rules of safe behavior on the roads, ways to recognize hidden dangers and blind spots while in the traffic environment. The traffic inspectors explained to the young Balakhnans the meaning of road signs and traffic light signals, as well as demonstrated a patrol car equipped with light signals and a siren. The children had the opportunity to "try on" the role of a police officer, enthusiastically exploring how the radio, radar, and other special equipment used by the Internal Affairs staff work. During the meeting, questions of interest to the children were also discussed regarding the conditions of service in the police and the possibility of entering higher educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, nuances in investigating criminal cases of various categories of complexity, as well as the heroic deeds of law enforcement officers protecting the region and the country. The chairman of the veteran organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Balakhna," retired police lieutenant colonel Alexander Khnygin, conducted a tour of the department's museum for the children, shared his rich professional experience, and talked about the most interesting and memorable moments of his service. He emphasized the importance of adhering to legality and professional ethics in the work of a police officer and noted that service in the internal affairs agencies is not just a job but a calling. "It is very important for the younger generation to have the opportunity to touch the real work of the police – not through films, but in real life. Such events not only broaden children's horizons but also give young people the chance to see the work of law enforcement officers from the inside, which helps strengthen trust, form a civic position, and moral values necessary for the development of a full-fledged personality," noted Margarita Kudryashova, a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Balakhna," who participated in the event. At the end of the event, the students expressed their gratitude to their mentors for an informative and interesting day that would remain in their memory for a long time, and for some, it might be the first step towards choosing a profession in the internal affairs agencies.
