A digital platform for labor migrants will be tested in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
June 4, 2026 14:30 Economy The Nizhny Novgorod region will become a pilot site for the implementation of a new digital platform designed for those coming to work in Russia. The cooperation agreement was signed by the governor of the region, secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the United Russia party, Gleb Nikitin, and the first deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, Alexander Vedyakhin. The document was signed at the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (18+), which takes place from June 3 to June 6. The project aims to make the process of accreditation and employment for foreign citizens faster and clearer. It primarily concerns visa migrants. The new platform will unite employers, foreign job seekers, recruitment agencies, and government structures in one digital space. The service will accompany a person at all stages—from visa processing and accreditation to employment and adaptation in the region.
The Nizhny Novgorod region is consistently building a systematic personnel policy. We expect that cooperation with Sber will create a convenient, transparent, and technological mechanism for attracting qualified specialists from abroad. I am convinced that this pilot project will become a working tool for business and strengthen the personnel potential of the region, Gleb Nikitin noted.
Alexander Vedyakhin, for his part, emphasized that the problem of staff shortages remains relevant, and one way to address it is to attract foreign specialists. He added that it is important to make the process of relocation and employment simpler and clearer for people, and the digital platform will help shorten this path and make it more convenient for both companies and the workers themselves. It was previously reported that the Nizhny Novgorod region will sign more than ten agreements at the SPIEF. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
