Michael Vecchione strengthened the attack of Nizhny Novgorod HC Torpedo.

American forward Michael Vecchione will continue his career with Torpedo. The club has signed a one-year contract with the 33-year-old hockey player. Vecchione is a two-time Calder Cup champion, the main trophy of the AHL. In the Washington farm team, he regularly became the team's top scorer or was among the leaders in scoring. He made a significant contribution to winning two championship titles alongside another Torpedo player, Bobby Nardella.

In total, he played 437 games in the AHL and recorded 300 points (135+165). He played three games in the NHL for Philadelphia and Washington. Last season was the forward's debut in the KHL. He played for Barys and quickly adapted to the league. While with the Astana club, Vecchione played 65 games and scored 46 points (19+27), becoming the team's top scorer and outpacing the nearest competitor by 10 points.

Six of his goals were game-winners, and his faceoff win percentage was 64.8.

Throughout his career, Michael has rightfully earned a reputation as a versatile forward who can be equally useful playing on the wing or in the center. This factor, along with his playoff experience and personal qualities as a team player, were decisive for us in signing him, noted Torpedo's general director Evgeny Zabuga.

It was previously reported that forwards Mikhail Vorobyov and Matvey Polyakov have joined Torpedo. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
