Panic disorders in Nizhny Novgorod residents are planned to be treated in a new way.

On June 3, 2026, at 11:32, the Ministry of Health of Russia presented a draft order for the approval of the standard of medical care for adults with panic disorder. The document covers the diagnosis, treatment, and outpatient monitoring of patients.

As reported in his Max channel by the editor-in-chief of the medical publication "Stacionar-Press," Alexey Nikонов, the standard was developed by the Russian Society of Psychiatrists.

According to the draft, patients are planned to be not only treated but also placed under outpatient monitoring with regular check-ups by a psychiatrist.

Special attention is given to diagnosis. The doctor must rule out thyrotoxicosis and other hormonal disorders that may mimic the symptoms of a panic attack.

Nikонов added that treatment will not be limited to medication therapy. In addition to medications, patients are provided with up to 15 sessions of individual or group psychotherapy.

Earlier, pediatrician Konstantin Morozov explained why constant fatigue occurs. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX. Subscribe to stay updated on major events, exclusive materials, and timely information.
