Beeline is testing free insurance against phone fraud with coverage of up to half a million per month.

      June 3, 2026 15:58 Society As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026), Beeline announced tests of free insurance against phone fraud with coverage up to 500,000 rubles per month depending on the client's bank. The project partner is "AlfaStrakhovanie." A total of about 4 million operator clients will participate in the pilot launch, with plans to scale the service to the entire customer base starting in September. The insurance will cover thefts committed over the phone on the operator's network using social engineering methods, provided that the client was not warned about the attempted fraud. To protect their bank accounts with the insurance, clients will need to set Beeline's number as the primary contact in that bank. For Sberbank and "Alfa-Bank" clients, insurance coverage will be available by default, while clients of other banks will need to approve the connection in the Beeline app. The insurance limit will be 500,000 rubles per month for Sberbank and "Alfa-Bank" clients and 200,000 rubles for clients of other banks. At the same time, the number of claims per person is not limited. To protect its clients from unwanted calls, Beeline employs a comprehensive approach that includes perimeter network protection, spam labeling, blocking multiple calls, detecting signs of malicious intent during conversations, and more. The dynamics of malicious activity show that these anti-fraud tools, as well as measures taken to combat fraud at the state level, are indeed working and complicating the task for scammers. Since the beginning of the year, Beeline's anti-fraud system has blocked about 303 million fraudulent and spam calls. In the same period last year, nearly 640 million calls were received. Meanwhile, the number of saved clients has only decreased by about a third—from 87.4 million to 57.3 million—meaning that criminals are trying to improve quality where they cannot succeed in quantity: they plan attacks in advance and refine social engineering methods. In the summer of 2025, for users of the PRO version of Beeline's "My Security" service, a reimbursement service was launched for funds lost if scammers managed to breach all defense lines and succeed. The limit for this service was 25,000 rubles. The new extended insurance is designed to provide all Beeline clients with comprehensive protection against the most dangerous schemes and significant losses.
