The National Research University of the Presidential Academy held a sports festival.

      On June 3, 2026, at 16:18, Society In Nizhny Novgorod, at the territory of the "Sovcombank Arena" stadium, a physical culture and sports holiday "Presidential Starts" took place. In 2026, it was held for the 23rd time and was dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The sports holiday brought together more than 600 participants: students of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management, leading coach-instructors, members of sports clubs and organizations. The motto of the holiday is "80 years of sports victories!" "We are proud of the history of our institute, an integral part of which is sports achievements. Students of the Presidential Academy achieve leadership positions not only in sports but also in life, both in team games and in individual competitions!" said the director of the Presidential Academy, Ekaterina Lebedeva. The "Presidential Starts" were first organized in 2001, and since 2020 they have been held with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. "Thank you to the leadership of the universities, where active work is being done to engage students in physical culture and an active lifestyle. This fosters discipline and good physical skills that will certainly be useful in their future professional activities," said Dmitry Kabailo, the Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The concept of the holiday allows everyone to find sports competitions suitable for their level of preparedness and physical capabilities. The main part of the program features both individual and team competitions in 9 sports. The program also includes an 800-meter run, student cross-fit, power extreme, and a flash mob, where the teams of the Presidential Academy presented demonstration performances. Leading coach-instructors and specialists in various sports conducted master classes for the participants of the holiday and introduced them to their techniques. Members of the Sports Student Club "Chkalovets" organized an educational master class. "Any tradition that lives on is very important, and the emotions we experience during sports activities cannot be compared to anything else!" noted Kristina Kalinina, head of the youth policy department of RANEPA (Moscow). Vyacheslav Orinchuk, head of the physical education department of the Presidential Academy, recognized outstanding athletes and awarded them for their successes in competitions of various levels in the concluding academic year. Following the "Presidential Starts," winners were announced in team and individual standings. All of them received honorary certificates, cups, and medals.
