The main period for taking the Unified State Exam has started in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

On June 1, the main period for the State Final Certification in the form of the Unified State Exam (USE) began in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as throughout Russia. Exams were held for school graduates in three subjects: chemistry, history, and literature. More than 4,100 people participated.

      "The examination campaign is always a great responsibility for both the organizers and the graduates. Today, nearly 1,800 residents of Nizhny Novgorod took the history exam, over 1,500 took chemistry, and more than 850 took literature. The ministry monitors the situation at the examination venues every hour: specialists report this to me personally. Today, the atmosphere at the exams was businesslike and calm. All participants know their roles thanks to the training events that were held throughout the academic year," said the Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov.

      According to the ministry, on June 1, there were 52 examination venues (EGE) operating in the region, involving more than two thousand employees from the education system and public observers. A total of 89 examination venues will operate during the main period of the USE in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      "We pay great attention to safety during the exam and also ensure that all participants have equal conditions for taking the USE. The procedure is standard and does not differ from last year. The only innovation at our examination venue is that video recording with sound is conducted as children enter and pass through the metal detector, but this is an organizational aspect. There are no innovations in the procedure itself," shared the head of examination venue No. 0562, Alyona Zaitseva.

      The ministry also noted that this year there are more public observers at the USE. Most of them are representatives of the parent community in the region.

      "I have been a public observer for the fourth year now. Our main task is to ensure order. From my experience, I can say that everything goes smoothly: the children are confident, and they know the procedure well," said public observer Svetlana Rodionova from examination venue No. 0562.

      After all participants of the USE take their seats (at 09:50), they are given the first part of the instructions. At 10:00, the procedure for unsealing the control and measurement materials begins, followed by the second part of the instructions explaining how to fill out the forms.

      "I am taking literature today. I have been preparing for the exam for more than two years and I am practically not nervous today, as I remember everything. I am confident that I will do well in this subject," shared her emotions before the exam began, graduate of Lyceum No. 8 named after Academician E.K. Fyodorov of Nizhny Novgorod, Yana Nikishina.

      "My chosen subject is history. I did not prepare specifically for this exam because I have been studying history my entire school life. If you love history, then you won't need to prepare," expressed the opinion of graduate Grigory Kitaev from Lyceum No. 8 named after Academician E.K. Fyodorov of Nizhny Novgorod.

      Participants of the USE will be able to find out the results of their exams by contacting their school or through the website: checkege.rustest.ru/. Everyone who took the exams on June 1 will be able to find out the results no later than June 15.

      The next examination will take place in the region on June 4. On this day, residents of Nizhny Novgorod will take the USE in the Russian language.
