      June 1, 2026 11:58 Culture and Recreation The swimming season has started in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The regional office of Rospotrebnadzor is monitoring the condition of recreational areas by the water for compliance with sanitary legislation. This year, 26 official beaches have been prepared, 14 of which are in Nizhny Novgorod. However, they only open after laboratory tests and obtaining a sanitary conclusion. By the beginning of June, specialists collected 162 water samples and conducted over 800 tests—water was studied for chemical, microbiological, parasitological, and virological indicators. Sand was also checked: 52 samples and 142 analyses. No violations were found regarding the sand. Where you can already swim in Nizhny Novgorod:

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, permission has been granted for the beach at Yurasovskoye Lake in the urban district of Bor. However, the Upper Pond on Verkhneprudnaya Street in Vyksa does not currently meet the standards for bacteriological indicators.
