In 2026, routes to seven camps in the Nizhny Novgorod region will be updated.

      In 2026, as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," a number of regional roads leading to children's camps and recreation centers will be repaired. More than 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes, with a total length of the updated sections, ensuring the transportation of children to summer recreation places, amounting to 67 km. This was reported by the Main Department of Automobile Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region ahead of the summer health campaign.

      In the Kstovo district, the road "Access to the village of Gorny Borok - the village of Slobodskoye - the village of Dokukino" leads to the children's camp "Forest Tale." The contractor has already laid the leveling and top layers of asphalt concrete on 14.2 km of the road and equipped seven stopping areas.

      In the northern part of the region, in the Uren district, it is planned to update the route to the camp "Zvezdny," located in the village of Karpunikh. Here, two sections of the road "B. Arya - B. Krasnogor - Sodomovo - B. Kozlyana - Karpunikh" with a total length of 15.6 km will be repaired. On one of them, asphalt has already been completely laid, while on the other, 50% of the leveling and top layers have been completed.

      In the Balakhna district, the camp "Dzerzhinets" will receive a quality access road. Repairs are underway on the road "Access to the village of Galkino from the highway Shopsha - Ivanovo - Nizhny Novgorod," which is 5.5 km long.

      For the southeastern territories of the region, the road "Vyksa - Voznesenskoye - Satis" is of particular importance, with two sections totaling 25.9 km passing near the children's center "Koster" and the children's recreation camp "Lazurny" in the urban district of Vyksa.

      Finally, in the Lukoyanov district, repairs will affect 6.1 km of the road "Nizhny Novgorod - Saratov" from km 165 to 171. This road leads to the children's recreation camp "Zhuravli" and the children's health and education center named after Tanya Savicheva.

      "All the listed facilities are under special control. Specialists from the laboratory of the Main Department of Automobile Roads check the quality of materials and the finished surface at all stages—from the supply of crushed stone to the final marking. The national project allows not only to repair roads but also to make safe those routes along which children travel for recreation. Parents can be assured: young residents of Nizhny Novgorod will travel along these roads on new, smooth, and reliable asphalt," said Acting Director of the State Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "GUAD" Alexander Denisov.

      The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and began operating in the country in 2025. Its main goal is to provide citizens with socially significant infrastructure of new quality. The project consists of 12 federal projects that include goals previously outlined in the national projects "Housing and Urban Environment," "Safe Quality Roads," and state programs of the Russian Federation. They are aimed, among other things, at the development of road construction, housing and communal services, ensuring road safety, and developing public passenger transport.
