May 31, 2026 18:50 Incidents From March 16 to 20, an international operation called "Pangea" took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region, aimed at combating the illegal trade of medicines and medical devices on the internet. The events were conducted under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Interpol, coordinated by the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The operation involved employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region, the city police department of Nizhny Novgorod, territorial police departments, the regional office of Roszdravnadzor, and the Volga Operational Customs.
Over several days, specialists checked 418 websites and social media accounts through which drugs were being sold. Materials related to 118 internet resources were sent to Roskomnadzor for consideration of access restrictions. A decision to block 81 websites has already been made.
As part of 338 inspections, three crimes and one administrative offense were identified. Three individuals were detained on suspicion of illegal trafficking of potent substances.
In one case, during the inspection of a vehicle belonging to a Russian citizen detained on suspicion of illegal sale of such substances, six boxes containing more than 300 capsules of pregabalin were discovered. Additionally, equipment for producing counterfeit prescription forms was seized.
The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
