Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" made qualifying offers to five players.
Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" has sent qualifying offers to five hockey players - forwards Vladislav Firstov, Yegor Sokolov, and Nikita Rozhkov, as well as defensemen Anton Silaev and Kirill Steklov. Starting from June 1, all these players, except for Anton Silaev, will receive the status of "restricted free agent." This means that until June 20 inclusive, they can negotiate and accept offers from other KHL clubs. If any of the players agree to a contract with a new team, "Torpedo" will have the option to match the terms and keep the player or decline to match. In the latter case, a transfer will occur with compensation payment. However, if no offers are received by June 20, the sports rights to these players will remain with the Nizhny Novgorod club. The situation with Anton Silaev is different. His qualifying offer is "binding," so he will not enter the restricted free agent market. The rights to the defenseman in the KHL are automatically retained by "Torpedo" for the next two seasons. At the same time, Silaev is likely to continue his career overseas. He is close to signing a three-year rookie contract with "New Jersey," which selected him in the 2024 draft. There is a high probability that Vladislav Firstov will also leave the club. He will move to Yaroslavl's "Lokomotiv." It was previously reported that six players left "Torpedo" due to contract expirations. The team was left by defensemen Denis Alexandrov, Sergey Boykov, and Mikhail Naumenko, as well as forwards Maxim Letunov, Shane Prince, and Dmitry Shevchenko.
