A worker at the Nizhny Novgorod colony sustained serious injuries after falling from the roof.

      On May 30, 2026, 11:08 Society A 52-year-old worker from the Federal State Institution IK-14 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region sustained serious injuries after falling from the roof of a garbage site on May 24. This was reported by the press service of the regional Labor Inspection. The accident occurred around 11:30. A first-category laborer climbed onto the roof of the garbage site to attach a crane beam with load-grabbing devices and move the structure to the painting area. Suddenly, the man lost his balance and fell. The victim was diagnosed with fractures of the occipital bone, the right transverse process of the atlas, the right clavicle with displacement, ribs with displacement, as well as an intra-articular fracture of the right scapula with displacement. In addition, the worker suffered a combined injury, a bruise in the left temporal lobe, and a subdural hematoma in the left frontal-parietal region. It is noted that such injuries are classified as severe. The State Labor Inspection has organized an investigation to determine all the causes and circumstances of the incident.
