The zero cycle of construction of the sports and recreation complex on Rodionova has started.

      The Directorate for Construction has begun the zero cycle of building a sports and health complex on Rodionova Street. Ground reinforcement work is already 95% complete, and builders are moving on to the foundation installation, the regional government press service reported.

      The two-story sports complex will consist of three blocks. The complex will include a universal sports hall with seating for 750 and an indoor ice rink with artificial ice. The facility is designed for 170 athletes per shift, not including spectators. The total area of the building will exceed 8,500 square meters.

      The project is being implemented under a concession agreement between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and LLC "Second Nizhny Novgorod Sports Infrastructure," which is part of the GC "Directorate for Construction."

      As acting first deputy minister of construction for the region Alexey Levashkin explained, the contractor is completing the installation of bored pile foundations.

      Of the 739 soil-cement elements planned for the project, 710 have already been completed using jet grouting technology. The remaining 29 are expected to be finished by the end of the current week. After the ground reinforcement, the contractor will begin reinforcing and pouring the foundation slab, the deputy minister clarified.

      Currently, more than 20 specialists are working on site. As the scope of work expands, the number of personnel is expected to increase.

      Project manager of JSC "Construction Directorate" Vladimir Makariyshev shared that the preparatory work up to the zero mark has been fully completed. For the first block, concrete preparation and the installation of the reinforcement frame have been completed. At the same time, excavation for the slab of the second block is underway, with 80% readiness. According to him, the work is proceeding according to schedule.

      The main construction and installation work is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.

      Recall that the sports complex is being built on the site of an unfinished complex, the construction of which the company "Region-NN" began in 2014. Due to financial difficulties of the concessionaire, the project was suspended, and the facility was transferred to the region's balance. In October 2025, construction resumed, with the project costing 1.3 billion rubles. The funding sources are three: the federal and regional budgets, as well as investor funds.
