Nizhny Novgorod residents have started receiving SMS notifications about drone hazards.

      On May 29, 2026, at 07:32 Society Last night, residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region received SMS notifications from the RSChS for the first time about the introduction of a drone danger regime in the region. The message stated: "Attention! A Drone Danger regime has been introduced in the territory of the Nizhny region. Remain calm, call 112." Previously, such notifications had not been sent to the citizens. However, recently the Emergency Situations Department of Nizhny Novgorod informed NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" that agreements with mobile operators for organizing emergency notifications to the population via SMS have already been concluded. The municipal segment of the RASCO is responsible for sending warnings about drone or missile threats, as well as threats of emergencies. It consists of 109 points and seven local alert systems. Upon receiving the relevant signals and orders, the sirens are activated automatically. It was previously reported that on May 28, an attack by drones was repelled in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result, the dome of the regional court building was damaged. Following the incident, all scheduled hearings in the regional court for today were canceled.
