      According to the forecasts of the Hydrometeorological Center, thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected in some areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region on May 28 and 29, with an increase in the northwestern wind gusting up to 17 m/s.

      200 teams from "Nizhnevenergo" are ready for operational response to possible consequences of the bad weather: 741 specialists and 329 units of special equipment.

      Socially significant and infrastructure facilities are under special control, for which 235 backup power supply sources with a total capacity of about 8.21 MW are prepared to provide electricity if necessary. An operational headquarters is working in the branch, information exchange is carried out with territorial divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities, and continuous monitoring of the meteorological situation is conducted.

      Energy workers remind that if you find downed power lines, you must not approach them under any circumstances. It is necessary to immediately report to the energy company or the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
