The performances of the troupe are organized by ROSKONCERT according to the All-Russian tour and concert plan of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as part of the "Leading Theaters" direction of the "Big Tours" program. The visit to Nizhny Novgorod concludes the theater's spring tour in Russia. The ballet "Red Giselle" tells the story of the fate of Russian ballerina Olga Spesivtseva. The life story of the outstanding dancer, who fell into the revolutionary whirlpool, emigrated from Russia, and after a series of personal dramas and upheavals, ended up in a mental institution. Through the means of psychological ballet theater, the performance conveys the tragedy of the defenselessness of the owner of a brilliant gift before the blows of fate, oppressive memories, and fears. The choreographic homage to the brilliant dancer Olga Spesivtseva has already been seen in Yekaterinburg, Perm, Izhevsk, Kazan, and Cheboksary. Almost three decades after the premiere, Boris Eifman "recomposed" "Red Giselle," significantly changing its choreographic score. The artistic design of the famous production has also been improved, in its modernized form vividly reflecting the expressive possibilities of contemporary stage art. The premiere of the new version took place on August 26, 2025. "Red Giselle" is another step towards the perfect performance. I have dreamed of creating it my whole life. I was shocked to learn the details of Olga Spesivtseva's life. The tragic emotions I experienced became the impulse for creating the performance. This is not an illustration of Spesivtseva's biography, but an attempt to generalize her fate and the fates of many talents forced to leave Russia, who experienced a tragic outcome. Spesivtseva was a genius Giselle. The ballerina immersed herself so deeply in the world of her heroine that she no longer had the strength to return to real life: Giselle's fate became her own. But a fateful role in Spesivtseva's life was also played by the fact that, being a prima ballerina, she became involved in the bloody events of revolutionary Petrograd, and this red mark, as a sign of fate, haunted and tormented her. In creating this performance, we wanted the ballet theater to pay tribute to Olga Spesivtseva—a great ballerina with a tragic fate. The ballet "Red Giselle," besides being beautiful in form, is also very deep in its content," said the artistic director of the theater Boris Eifman.

      The performances of the ballet "Red Giselle" will take place on the stage of the Nizhny Novgorod Youth Theater on May 29 at 18:30, and on May 30 the performance will be shown twice—at 18:30 and an additional show at 12:00.
