A replica of the historical tram "Erlikon" has been installed at the Arrow in Nizhny Novgorod.

A tram car "Erlikon" has been installed between the warehouses at Strelka - a replica of the model launched in the city in 1896 for the XVI All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Similar cars were operated in Nizhny Novgorod until the end of the 1920s. No original "Erlikon" has survived, so the car was recreated in 1978 at the Gorky Car Repair Plant based on old blueprints. Before being installed at Strelka, it was located in the Museum of Electric Transport at Tram Depot No. 1.

      "Erlikon" is a double-sided motor car with a capacity of 30-40 passengers. The salon was separated from the platforms by partitions with doors, and the seats were arranged along the walls. The driver worked standing and moved from one end of the car to the other when changing the direction of travel. Cars of this model, produced in Belgium in the late 19th - early 20th century, became widespread in Europe and the Russian Empire due to their compactness, reliability, and ease of maintenance.

      Visitors to the "Great All-Russian" exhibition can view the "Erlikon" from the outside and inside, as well as see the cabin of the modern tram "MiNin," presented in the exhibition. The "Erlikon" car will remain at the warehouses until the exhibition concludes, which will last until November 4.
