A veteran of the Special Military Operation from the Nizhny Novgorod region opened a workshop under a social contract.

      On May 26, 2026, at 13:16 Society Veteran of the Special Military Operation Alexey Tikhonov from the Nizhny Novgorod region, after returning from the front, took up woodworking and opened his own business thanks to a social contract. He received 350,000 rubles for the development of his workshop, writes pravda-nn.ru. The 56-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod went on the special operation following his son. Upon returning home, Alexey began creating unique wooden and epoxy resin interior items. According to him, the work helped him cope with his emotions and find inner peace. A special place in his collection is occupied by a table dedicated to his son, who did not return from the combat mission. The composition features moss, shell casings, and a clock with stopped hands. The veteran's family members are also involved in the business: his wife makes epoxy resin products, and his daughter helps sell the products in her store. Alexey noted that after receiving the social contract, production was able to increase several times. According to Igor Sedykh, the Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the support program for participants of the Special Military Operation has been in effect in the region since January 2026. Veterans looking for work or who have unemployed status can receive up to 350,000 rubles to open their own business. According to regional authorities, 50 veterans have already taken advantage of this support measure.
