The Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador commented on the strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 26, 2026, at 10:41, the Society reported that the Special Envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik, announced an increase in the number of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on regions far from the territory of the Special Military Operation, including the Nizhny Novgorod region.       According to him, the opponents have recently begun to strike further away from the line of combat contact. This fact is confirmed by attacks in a number of regions of Russia.

      The increase in the number of strikes on civilian facilities has been noted not only along the Line of Combat Contact but has also affected at least 23 subjects of Russia, significantly distant from the Special Military Operation zone, including Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod region, and Mordovia, Rodion Miroshnik emphasized.
