The police detained an 18-year-old participant in the fight on Rozhdestvenskaya: a case has been opened.

      On May 26, 2026, at 09:25, Incidents: Police officers identified and detained a young man who assaulted a 19-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod on Rozhdestvenskaya Street. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod region reported.

      The incident occurred on May 24 in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. A video of the conflict between the young men near one of the cafes later appeared on social networks.

      The first report of the fight was received by the police from a witness. After some time, the victim himself also filed a complaint. He requested that the unknown individual who caused him bodily harm during the street conflict be held accountable.

      The identity of the suspect was quickly established, and the 18-year-old young man was taken to the department.

      A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for "Beatings." As a preventive measure, he has been placed under a non-leaving order.

      "I honestly didn't want to, I was under the influence of alcohol," said the instigator of the fight, apologizing to the victim.

      It was also revealed that the detained individual is already a subject of another criminal case that is currently being investigated by the authorities.
