A 42-year-old man died in a fire in an apartment building in Avtozavod.

      On May 26, 2026, at 12:25, Incidents: A deadly fire occurred in an apartment building on Mineeva Street in the Avtozavodsky District. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Upon arrival, firefighters saw black smoke coming from the windows of the third floor of the building. Open flames covered an area of 12 square meters. Six units of equipment and 26 specialists were involved in extinguishing the fire. Rescuers evacuated 20 people, including four children. Unfortunately, a 42-year-old man died in the fire. According to preliminary information, the cause of the tragedy was careless handling of fire.
