A 17-year-old girl from Nizhny Novgorod drowned in a pond in the village of Bolshie Kuliki.

      On May 25, 2026, at 11:39, Incidents: A teenager drowned in a water body in Nizhny Novgorod on May 23. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations. The incident occurred at the "Bolshie Kuliki" pond in the Bolshie Kuliki settlement in the urban district of Shakhunya. Eyewitnesses retrieved the body of a 17-year-old girl from the water. In the past week, three incidents have been registered at water bodies in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In addition to the teenager, two other people have died. It was previously reported that a 13-year-old boy drowned in Lake Malibu in Volodarsk. According to preliminary data, he was trying to swim across the water body but soon went under and did not resurface.
