Gleb Nikitin spoke about the technological capabilities of the new "Volga Arena"
The new home arena of Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" - "Volga Arena" will become one of the most technologically advanced in the country. This was reported by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, to TASS. According to him, the facility stands out among others due to its engineering solutions and functional filling.
"In terms of solutions and filling, it is also the most modern and, in my opinion, the only facility with three ice rinks. The arena's filling will be the most saturated. Of course, the dispatching and equipment used there are the latest technology. Both the software and multimedia equipment are the most modern," noted the regional head.
The project provides for a quick transformation of the space: the ice rink can be rapidly adapted for sled hockey, figure skating, basketball, volleyball, mini-football, and martial arts. The complex is also designed for hosting large shows, forums, and exhibitions of national and international level. The arena is suitable for both standard pre-match programs and complex multimedia shows with laser effects and 3D projections.
"The visual equipment is at the level of leading arenas in the National Hockey League - a seamless media cube of ultra-high resolution, a media ring, circular LED panels, and a media facade. The innovative lighting in the arena allows for a transition from the strictest KHL sports regulations to theatrical shows, while the intelligent acoustics not only provide crystal clear sound but also architecturally emphasize the natural noise of the stands," added Nikitin.
For the convenience of fans, a whole digital infrastructure has been created. Thus, through a mobile application, it will be possible to purchase tickets, enter the arena, order food, and pay for purchases with bonus points. The building will install a network of smart screens, allowing fans to follow the match even outside the stadium bowl. The foyer will feature interactive displays for visually impaired and hearing-impaired guests.
In the boxes, additional digital solutions are provided: ordering food in a few clicks, managing video replays, and accessing extended statistics. A business analytics system is also being implemented, which will allow analyzing visitor preferences and forming personalized offers while maintaining data confidentiality.
Let us remind you that the construction of "Volga Arena" began in 2022. The facility is located at 11 Strelka Street, next to the football "Sovcombank Arena." It is planned that the facility will be handed over to the hockey club "Torpedo" this summer. The team will start the next season at the new stadium.
