Traffic on the Lower Volga Embankment will be restricted on May 20.

      May 19, 2026 18:30 Society Traffic on the Nizhnevolzhskaya Embankment will be restricted on May 20 from 00:01 to 23:59, the city hall press service reported.

      Access will be completely closed in the area near the Chkalov Stairs. Warning signs and prohibitory road signs will be installed at the approaches to the closed zone.

      Significant difficulties are not expected for car drivers. The closed section can be bypassed through the existing passage in the arch of the Chkalov Stairs. At the same time, motorists are reminded that there is a height restriction of 2.5 meters.

      Truck and bus drivers exceeding the specified height are advised to choose an alternative route in advance. A detour is possible via the Kazan exit, as well as along Bolshaya Pecherskaya and Rodionova streets.

      In addition, access to the parking lot located to the left of the "Hero Boat" monument will be restricted until 23:59 on May 20.

      The restrictions are related to the holding of the arts festival "Alpha Man / ALFA HUMAN" (6+), which will take place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 20 to 31.
