Scheduled work on the capital repair of roads has begun in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The start of the road campaign was announced by the city's mayor, Yuri Shalabaev. According to the head of the city, seven major urban highways will undergo major repairs by 2026. The work will affect Karl Marx, Kuzbasskaya, Udmurt, Ryabtsev, Zvezdinka, Novikov-Priboy, and Kazan highways. On these sections, contractors will update the road surface, tidy up sidewalks, and bus stops. The first repairs began on Kuzbasskaya Street. Currently, milling of the old asphalt is being carried out on the section from the Moscow highway to the overpass at the 435th kilometer of the Gorky Railway. After May 20, road crews will start work on Udmurt and Zvezdinka streets. Other projects are planned to be launched in stages in June. At the same time, major repairs of the overpass near the Myzinsky Bridge continue in Nizhny Novgorod. As Yuri Shalabaev noted, the noisiest stages of work, including foundation preparation and asphalt laying, will be carried out at night and on weekends.
