Evgeny Lyulin called the cooperation between the Nizhny Novgorod and Belarusian youth a bridge of friendship.

On May 14, 2026, at 15:10, Society Students of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev participated in the "Immortal Regiment" march in Minsk. The Nizhny Novgorod region became the only one in Russia whose students joined the commemorative march in the capital of Belarus. The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Yevgeny Lyulin, called the cooperation between Nizhny Novgorod and Belarusian youth a bridge of friendship between the region and the fraternal republic.

The visit of the delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod university was organized by the representation of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the Republic of Belarus together with the rector of NGTU, Sergey Dmitriev. In the "Immortal Regiment" march, polytechnic students participated alongside the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, Boris Gryzlov.

"Our peoples are united by a common historical memory and common challenges, so events like the participation of Nizhny Novgorod students in the 'Immortal Regiment' are of great significance. They show that the younger generation remembers the feat of their ancestors and is ready to continue the traditions of brotherhood and mutual assistance," emphasized the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yevgeny Lyulin.

Let us remind you that the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region was the first in Russia to conclude cooperation agreements with all legislative bodies of the regions of the Republic of Belarus. Since 2022, joint congresses of small towns have been held with the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies, which have long grown into international forums of people's diplomacy.

The Nizhny Novgorod region was the first in the country to create a district Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District, in which Belarusian youth actively participate. Joint efforts have developed and adopted a unified Standard for the activities of youth chambers for both countries.

In addition, in February of this year, within the framework of Parliamentary Day at NGTU, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the Legislative Assembly and the polytechnic. The document aims to unite legislative and scientific-educational resources to address regional development tasks and provides for independent expertise of legislative proposals with the participation of university experts, organization of internships for students, and joint events.
