A contractor has been selected for the expansion of the Novo-Striginsky cemetery.

      On May 14, 2026, at 14:16, Society found a contractor for the construction of the second phase of the municipal cemetery "Novo Striginskoye." This was reported on the state procurement website. Only one application was submitted for participation in the competition, which was deemed compliant with the established requirements. The contract is planned to be concluded at the initial price of 347,593,410 rubles. The name of the contracting organization has not yet been disclosed. The customer is the MBU "GlavUKS."

      It is worth noting that this competition was held for the second time. Previously, there were no applicants for the construction. The project provides for the expansion of the cemetery by almost 19.3 hectares. The new area adjoins the southern, southwestern, and southeastern borders of the existing territory. It is planned to arrange 20,644 burial places here.

      Currently, this area is a flat plot with birch and aspen trees. There are no buildings or engineering communications; there are field roads and ditches in places. To the south and southeast, there are unnamed lakes. The contract includes general construction works, the arrangement of driveways, sidewalks, and platforms, the installation of fencing, outdoor lighting, and drainage systems. It also provides for the laying of water supply and sewage networks, the installation of ventilation and fire alarm systems, the construction of canopies, toilets, fire tanks, and a watering reservoir, the creation of container sites, as well as landscaping and improvement.

      The work must be completed by December 20, 2030, from the moment the contract is signed. Funding is planned for 2026-2030 and will be provided from the budget of Nizhny Novgorod.

      Earlier, it was reported that new burial sites could also appear in the cemeteries "Novo-Sormovskoe," "Sorting," in the village of Sheloksha, and on plot No. 2 near "Teplichnoye."
