Two kilos of bacon and 12 chocolates: "gourmet" robbed a pensioner from Nizhny Novgorod
May 12, 2026 19:26 Incidents A man stole food supplies from the home of a 77-year-old woman in the Lukoyanovsky district. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. A local resident removed a window pane from the house and took with him 12 bars of chocolate, two kilograms of lard, half a kilogram of trout steaks, one kilogram of meat, canned food, vermicelli, oil, jars of honey, and jam. The criminal was apprehended shortly after the incident; he turned out to be a 61-year-old man who already had a criminal record. A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft with breaking and entering). The suspect fully admitted his guilt and faces up to six years in prison. Earlier, we reported that a Nizhny Novgorod resident was sentenced to five years for 341 pension recalculation frauds.
