The semifinals of the "It's a Family Thing" contest will take place from May 11 to 14 for families from the Volga Federal District.

      On May 12, 2026, at 09:21 Society From May 11 to 14, 2026, in Ufa, more than 1,500 participants from over 280 families of the Volga region will compete for a chance to reach the finals of the contest "This is a Family Matter" (0+). In the district semifinals of the most massive project of the Presidential platform "Russia - a country of opportunities," participants will undergo a series of intellectual, creative, and sports challenges united by the theme "Being a Family." The winners will represent their region in July 2026 at the finals of the contest in Moscow and compete for the main prizes - 60 certificates of 5 million rubles each for improving living conditions for the winners and family trips for the finalists.

      At the same time, evaluation tasks will be conducted for family teams consisting of three generations from all 14 regions of the Volga Federal District: the Republics of Bashkortostan, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia; Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov, Ulyanovsk regions, and Perm Krai.

      On May 11, a solemn opening ceremony will take place. On May 12 and 13, families will undergo intellectual, sports, and creative challenges, where they will demonstrate their erudition, ingenuity, and ability to work as a team. Some tasks will be related to the cultural code of Russia - the key theme of the season. The contest day will begin with an intellectual quiz Knowledge. Game from the Russian Society "Knowledge."

      On May 14, there will be a meeting with science fiction writer and member of the Advisory Board of the contest "This is a Family Matter," Sergey Lukyanenko, and the ceremony of summarizing the results will take place, where the names of the winning families of the semifinals will be announced.

      Earlier, semifinals were held for families from other federal districts. In July, all finalists will have a trip to Moscow, and based on the results of participation in the finals, a family trip will be awarded. The names of the winners will be announced on July 8, 2026, on Family, Love, and Fidelity Day. A total of 726,191 people from 196,576 families participated in the application campaign for the second season, including 140,192 people, which is 39,154 family teams from the Volga Federal District. The contest "This is a Family Matter" is part of the national project "Family."
