      At the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (KUPNO), a solemn award ceremony for the public recognition medal "Father of a Soldier" took place on the eve of Victory Day. The event was organized by KUPNO, the regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Fathers of Russia" with the support of the regional government.

      The event was attended by State Duma Deputy Yuri Stankevich, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Vasily Sukhanov, Chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod Evgeny Chintsov, Vice-Rector for Development of KUPNO, Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Volunteers of Victory" Maria Samodelkina, and Chairman of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Fathers of Russia" in the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Isaev.

      "The feat of any defender of the Fatherland begins with the family, with the example of a father who instills in children love for the Motherland, respect for history, and readiness to take responsibility for the country and its future. I believe that a hero is someone who lives honestly, is not afraid to defend their position, honors their ancestors, and is always ready to protect their country. Today we honor men who have managed to raise true heroes, who have proven their loyalty to their people and Russia through personal courage. The awards we presented today are a testament to the fact that we value the contribution of fathers to the upbringing of the younger generation, who are not alien to the concepts of honor and duty," noted Yuri Stankevich.

      Among the awardees are fathers of participants in the special military operation who have been awarded state honors for feats accomplished during combat operations, as well as men who serve on the front lines alongside their children.

      "It is especially valuable when paternal upbringing is reinforced by real masculine deeds. I have witnessed fathers visiting their children in the SVO zone and leaving with them on tanks to carry out combat missions. This is priceless! Unfortunately, war takes lives, and we must be endlessly grateful to parents for raising heroes who are ready to selflessly stand up for the Motherland. The awarding of the 'Father of a Soldier' medals is not coincidentally timed to coincide with Victory Day. Thus, we once again emphasize that the traits inherent in the victorious people: courage, resilience, and readiness for self-sacrifice, are needed in modern conditions for a new victory over neo-Nazism and fascism," said Evgeny Chintsov.

      "Today's ceremony is a sign of deep respect for fathers who not only raised worthy sons but also passed on to them the main values: loyalty to the Motherland and readiness to stand up for their country at any moment. It is personal example that shapes a person's character, their attitude towards the history of the Fatherland, and understanding of true service," emphasized Maria Samodelkina.

      "Today, on the eve of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, we award fathers who have raised true heroes with the public recognition medal 'Father of a Soldier.' It is very symbolic that this medal was established on May 9. Our guys are fighting against fascist evil just as our grandfathers did during the Great Patriotic War," said Dmitry Isaev.

      In addition, during the solemn ceremony, medals "For Support of the Special Military Operation" and letters of gratitude for assistance to SVO participants were awarded by unit commanders.
