More than 160 thousand Nizhny Novgorod residents voted for the improvement under the national project.

      May 12, 2026 15:59 Society More than 160,000 residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region have already cast their votes for the improvement of public areas under the federal program "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The rating voting started on April 21 on the platform: zagorodsreda.gosuslugi.ru and will last until June 12. Citizens of Russia over 14 years old can choose public spaces for large-scale renewal. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 93 areas in 23 municipalities are vying for comprehensive development. At the same time, residents of all 50 districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region can choose the winning projects that will be developed with federal support in 2027. Volunteers work at mass events, in places with a large number of visitors, in major shopping centers, educational institutions, and enterprises. Activists from the volunteer corps of the FCGS help people vote using tablets provided to them or through the personal mobile phones of residents, introduce Nizhny Novgorod residents to the list of spaces nominated for voting, and explain the program. "FCGS volunteers work in Nizhny Novgorod and the municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region. They assist everyone who wants to vote and answer questions about the 'Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment' program. In particular, they explain the role of residents, why specific addresses are put to a vote, how long the reconstruction of the facility will take, what changes to expect as a result of the work, and how to propose their own ideas for the improvement of the area in the future," said Elena Borisova, Deputy General Director of the Volunteer Center of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Currently, 1,337 activists are involved in the Nizhny Novgorod volunteer corps of the FCGS, ready to help residents of all districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region choose public spaces for improvement in 2027.
