The spring hunting for feathered game has ended in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On May 12, 2026, 15:38 Society On May 10, the spring hunting season for feathered game officially closed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Forestry. Along with the end of the campaign, hunters were reminded that obtaining a permit requires reporting on the catch. It is necessary to report even if the outing was unsuccessful. If the deadline is not met, the issuance of a new permit may be denied for up to a year. Information must be submitted within 20 days after the end date of the hunt specified in the permit. This should be done at the place of its issuance. The data is entered into Table No. 3 titled "Information on Harvested Hunting Resources" - it is located on the reverse side of the permit. The information can be submitted in person or sent by mail with a delivery notification and an inventory of the contents. It should be noted that this spring, hunting was allowed for male ducks, capercaillie, black grouse, geese, and woodcock. Every year, more than 6,000 hunters apply for permits before the start of the spring season.
