Major of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Andrey Kopytov passed away suddenly in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      May 12, 2026 15:43 Society Major of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Andrey Kopytov passed away suddenly in the Nizhny Novgorod region at the age of 40. This was reported by the press service of the regional emergency management agency.

      Andrey Alexandrovich was born on March 4, 1986. After graduating from the Academy of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in 2009, he rose through the ranks from cadet to senior officer of the department. During his military service, he was repeatedly awarded departmental honors. The officer passed away on May 10; recently, he served in the administration overseeing the work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations units in the Volga Federal District.

      We express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The bright memory of Andrey Alexandrovich Kopytov will forever remain in our hearts, his colleagues wrote.

      The farewell ceremony is scheduled for 1:00 PM on May 16 at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "The Rescue of the Lost" on Larin Street. The funeral will take place at the "Birch Grove" cemetery in the Novinki settlement in the Prioksky district.
