Job seekers can contact the institution for assistance in job searching and receive a full range of support measures from the employment service. Career consultants provide psychological support to job seekers, help them with social adaptation and career orientation, select vacancies, compose resumes, and prepare for interviews. If necessary, citizens are directed to retraining or upgrading their qualifications. Information about in-demand professions can also be obtained, and questions can be asked. In the first quarter of 2026, 39 people sought assistance, of whom 20 were able to find employment. Former convicts found jobs in housing and communal services, construction, light industry, and the manufacturing sector. Among the occupied positions are: improvement worker, carpenter, abrasive product molder, locksmith, painter, loader, and others. As noted by acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod personnel center "Work of Russia" Elena Vidyaeva, the institution closely interacts with the Federal Penitentiary Service and conducts outreach consultations in correctional facilities. "Consultations and job fairs in colonies help convicts get acquainted with the labor market even before their release, understand employer requirements, choose a profession, and plan their future after returning to society. In the first quarter of 2026, our employees held 10 mini-job fairs, in which 160 convicts participated," said Elena Vidyaeva. According to her, work is being carried out within the framework of the state probation system, and the personnel center is a key link in its implementation, providing participants with assistance in employment and social adaptation. Most often, citizens with criminal records choose working professions. Currently, enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region are ready to offer them vacancies in the manufacturing sector—loaders, electric welders, laborers, work distributors, boiler attendants, mechanics, metal casters, refractory specialists, locksmiths, and other specialists are needed. Those released from places of deprivation of liberty can contact any branch of the Nizhny Novgorod personnel center, familiarize themselves with vacancies on the "Work of Russia" portal, and receive consultations in the official group of the institution on "VKontakte." Employment assistance corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Personnel," which has been implemented in Russia since 2025 by order of President Vladimir Putin. Its structure includes federal projects "Labor Market Management," "Active Employment Assistance Measures," "Education for the Labor Market," and "Labor Person." Their goal is to ensure the training of personnel according to the needs of employers through the interaction of educational organizations, business, and the state.
