On May 10, the acceptance of applications for the social projects competition "Open Nizhny" begins.

      On May 9, 2026, at 15:02 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, the acceptance of applications for participation in the city competition of social projects "Open Nizhny" will start on May 10, which will take place in 2026. This was reported by the Department of Social Policy of the city administration. "The 'Open Nizhny' competition annually proves its relevance: the number of participants is growing, and Nizhny Novgorod public organizations consistently confirm its demand. We remain open to new original and, most importantly, significant projects ready to contribute to the development of our city," emphasized Arthur Stoyan, the director of the Department of Social Communications and Youth Policy. The "Open Nizhny" competition has been providing non-profit organizations with the opportunity to implement projects aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens for 15 years. During this time, numerous forums, festivals, exhibitions, theatrical performances, seminars, and master classes have been held. These events cover various aspects of city life, from ecology to culture and youth policy. Non-profit organizations registered in Russia and operating in Nizhny Novgorod can participate in the competition. Each organization can submit only one project, which must correspond to one of the seven thematic areas:

       "Cultural Nizhny"

      

      

       "Green Nizhny"

      

      

       "Social Nizhny"

      

      

       "Patriotic Nizhny"

      

      

       "Young Nizhny"

      

      The projects will be evaluated by an expert commission, which will include representatives of the Public Chamber, the scientific community, the city administration, and deputies of the City Duma. The winners of the competition will receive subsidies from the budget of Nizhny Novgorod. For organizations that have been operating for more than a year, the subsidy amount will be up to 1 million rubles, and for new non-profit organizations - up to 500 thousand rubles. Projects must be implemented by November 30, 2026.
