In his address, Chintsov emphasized that Victory Day remains "a great and sacred holiday of our country," a symbol of memory, pride, and gratitude to the generation of victors. He reminded of the contribution of the residents of Gorky to achieving Victory both at the front and in the rear.

      "For Nizhny Novgorod - the City of Labor Valor - this date has special significance. During the war, hundreds of thousands of Gorky residents went to the front, while those who remained in the rear selflessly worked in enterprises, bringing Victory closer," the congratulation stated.

      The Chairman of the City Duma noted that Gorky produced tanks, submarines, shells, vehicles, and communication equipment for the front during the war, becoming one of the most important supports for both the front and the rear. Evgeny Chintsov also stated that the main guarantee of the Soviet Union's Victory was the unity of the people in the face of mortal danger. According to him, people of different nationalities and faiths were united by a common goal.

      "They had a common enemy, a common Motherland, and a common goal - to reach Berlin. And they were able to do it," he emphasized.

      In his address, Chintsov expressed gratitude to veterans and the generation of victors, as well as stated the importance of societal cohesion in modern conditions.

      "2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. And today this unity is once again necessary for us - in conditions when Nazism has tried to raise its head again in Donbass. Now, during the special military operation, the fate of the state is being decided, and our society must be monolithic so that Victory is surely ours," Chintsov said.
