Konstantin Mogilevsky noted that the Nizhny Novgorod Region traditionally pays great attention to preserving the historical memory of military and labor feats. According to him, the whole country knows about the contribution of the residents of Gorky to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, including the role of the "Krasnoe Sormovo" plant and the city of Gorky as a center of military industry.
Gleb Nikitin, for his part, emphasized the importance of work to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War and to popularize the contribution of the region's residents to the Victory.

The participants of the meeting also summarized the results of the five-year work of the regional branch of the society. Reports were presented by the general director of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve Yuri Filippov, the director of the Institute of International Relations and World History of NNSU named after N.I. Lobachevsky Mikhail Rykhtik, and the head of the Committee for Archives of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Boris Pudalov. They presented implemented projects and outlined directions for further work.
In 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Russian Historical Society celebrates its tenth anniversary since its inception. According to Gleb Nikitin, during this time, the branch has become a platform for professional dialogue, uniting the scientific community, educational, and cultural organizations of the region. One of the key areas of work identified by the participants of the meeting is archaeological research. Over the past four years, a joint expedition of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve, NNSU named after Lobachevsky, and the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences has been taking place in the Vachsky municipal district. Scientists are studying the burial ground of the Muroma tribe—a Finno-Ugric people who lived in this area in the 9th-11th centuries. During the course of their work, researchers surveyed more than 2.5 square kilometers of territory and studied 89 burials.
In addition, society members participate in the study and popularization of folk arts and crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
