Mobile internet has been improved in the village of Afanasyevo in the Bogorodsky district.

      On May 7, 2026, at 14:26, the Digital Ecosystem of MTS put into operation a 4G standard base station in the village of Afanasyevo, Bogorodsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region. As a result, residents of the settlement and guests of recreational areas gained access to high-speed mobile internet.

      Next-generation communication became available to more than 200 people. Villagers can use online banking, the government services portal, remote learning services, and telemedicine, as well as stay connected during peak hours when traffic consumption traditionally increases.

      When placing the equipment, the company took into account the tourist specifics of the area. Afanasyevo annually welcomes thousands of vacationers from Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Kstovo, Pavlovo, and other settlements in the region. Guests come to Chizhkovsky Pond and local recreational areas. Stable 4G allows them to use navigation, book cabins at recreation centers online, and pay for services through banking apps. This makes the destination more convenient for short trips and family vacations.

      In addition to residential buildings, stable coverage is provided at social and tourist infrastructure facilities. The areas with reliable reception include the paramedic and obstetric station, the village library, a livestock farm, the Afanasyevsky spring, the Assumption Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as recreation centers "Living Springs," "Pirate Harbor," and "Chizhkovskoye Lake."

      The director of MTS in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Belov, noted that the emergence of stable communication enhances the village's potential as an attraction for urban residents. According to him, quality mobile internet is important not only for tourists but also for local residents, as it provides the opportunity to work remotely, receive education online, and use digital services, which directly affects the quality of life in rural areas.
