Nizhny Novgorod residents can join the patriotic campaign "Heirs of the Victors."

      On May 7, 2026, at 14:25 Society On the eve of Victory Day, the action "Heirs of the Victors" started at the national center "Russia," which is being held for the third time in collaboration with the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation. The goal of the action is to demonstrate the continuity of the traditions of serving the Motherland and the contribution of each family to the history of the country. Visitors can see through personal stories that heroism and patriotism are not abstract concepts, but real examples that inspire and unite people. "Victory Day is the most important, sacred holiday for each of us. On this day, there is a special sense of unity and cohesion among our people. We honor and pass down from generation to generation the memory of those who defended the Motherland at the front and accomplished labor feats in the rear, we bow before their courage and resilience. Today, our defenders—participants of the special military operation—continue this military endeavor, defending the honor and future of Russia. Our duty as descendants of a heroic generation is to be united and proudly carry the banner of the Great Victory," noted the state secretary, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, and chairwoman of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation Anna Tsivileva. As part of the action, stories, photographs, and videos of participants of the special military operation and their relatives—veterans of the Great Patriotic War, rear workers—will be published on the social networks of the foundation's branches and shared across all regions of the country. To share a family story, one must contact the social coordinator of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation or the branch of the foundation in their region. It is also necessary to prepare a story about the participant of the special military operation, the history of their relative, and attach photographs or videos. The foundation's staff will help format the materials for publication and disseminate them on the official accounts of the branch (https://vk.com/zazhitnikinn). The state foundation "Defenders of the Fatherland" was established by the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Its main goal is the personal support of veterans of the special military operation and the families of heroes. Specialists and social coordinators of the foundation assist defenders not only with medical and social rehabilitation but also in retraining and employment, provide legal support, adapt housing to the needs of the disabled, and ensure long-term home care.
