Two schoolchildren from Nizhny Novgorod won at the All-Russian Olympiad.
May 7, 2026 15:04 Society Nizhny Novgorod school students Diana Laubgan from Gymnasium No. 67 and Timofey Batsyn from Lyceum No. 40 became winners of the final stage of the All-Russian School Olympiad 2025-2026, the largest intellectual competition in the country. This was reported by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, on his social media.
Diana Laubgan showed the best result in the German language, while Timofey Batsyn won the olympiad in economics and also became a prizewinner in computer science and physics.
The head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, noted that this year 28 students earned the right to represent Nizhny Novgorod at the All-Russian School Olympiad. Before reaching the finals, they passed school, municipal, and regional stages.
Participants competed with the strongest school students in the country in mathematics, physics, Russian language, literature, foreign languages, computer science, astronomy, and other disciplines. According to the mayor, nine students from Nizhny Novgorod schools No. 9, 125, 179, 85, school No. 30 named after L.A. Antonova, as well as lyceums No. 40, 38, and 82 became prizewinners of the final stage.
"It is a pleasure to congratulate these determined and talented children; their victories are a significant contribution and support from teachers and parents. Wishing the kids new successes and admission to their dream universities," said Yuri Shalabaev, wishing parents and teachers calm during the Unified State Exam (USE).
