A Nizhny Novgorod resident was arrested for the murder of an acquaintance with a disability.

According to the regional Investigative Committee, in May 2026, a quarrel occurred between them in an apartment on Central Street. During the conflict, the man strangled the 60-year-old woman, whom he had been caring for due to her disability. She died at the scene from her injuries. After the incident, the accused left the crime scene. The suspect was promptly detained. By court decision, he has been placed in custody as a preventive measure. Investigative actions are currently ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and to form a body of evidence. It was previously reported that in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the administrator of a recreation center in the Dalnekonstantinovsky district will be prosecuted due to the death of a teenager.
