A Nizhny Novgorod resident will be sentenced for the brutal murder of a couple in Avtozavod.

      On May 6, 2026, at 19:25, Incidents: A 41-year-old local resident in Nizhny Novgorod will be tried for the murder of two people with particular cruelty. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office. According to the investigation, in August 2025, the man was in a state of alcohol intoxication in an apartment of a house on Raevsky Street, which he rented from the victim. Armed with a knife, he inflicted at least 13 blows to the vital organs of a 51-year-old woman — to her face, neck, and upper limbs. Then the accused attacked her 70-year-old husband, inflicting at least eight blows to his face and neck. Both victims died on the spot from their injuries. After committing the crime, the man severed the heads of the deceased from their bodies in an attempt to hide the traces of his actions. During the preliminary investigation, the accused fully confessed to his guilt. The investigation deemed the collected evidence sufficient to conclude his involvement in the crime. He has been detained during the investigation. The materials of the criminal case have been sent to the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court for consideration on the merits.
