290,000 rubles were paid to Nizhny Novgorod residents for reports of drunk drivers.

      On May 6, 2026, at 08:52, Incidents: 58 residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region received monetary rewards for informing the police about drivers operating vehicles while intoxicated. This was reported by the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the regional security ministry.

      The agency reminded that monetary rewards for citizens are provided by the state program "Ensuring Public Order and Combating Crime." The procedure for payments is regulated by the regional government decree dated April 21, 2023.

      In 2025, the regional security ministry paid rewards to 164 citizens.

      It should be noted that reports of drunk drivers can be made by calling 112. If the information is confirmed, the informant is entitled to a reward of 5,000 rubles.
