Nizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" has become the bronze medalist of the MHL for the third consecutive year.

      Hockey spring in Nizhny Novgorod has come to an end. In the sixth match of the semifinals of the Kharlamov Cup, "Chaika" lost to "Loko" with a score of 3:5 and finished their playoff run.

      The start of the match belonged to the hosts. Already in the fourth minute, Viktor Fedorov opened the scoring, and then Timur Mukhanov increased the advantage for Nizhny Novgorod to 2:0. However, the opponent quickly returned to the game: first, they reduced the deficit, and 18 seconds before the break, they restored parity.

      In the second period, the initiative was seized by the Yaroslavl team. "Loko" scored two more goals and took the lead. Nevertheless, three seconds before the end of the twenty minutes, Lev Salnikov reduced the gap to a minimum - 3:4.

      In the final segment of the match, the Yaroslavl team capitalized on their numerical advantage and secured their success. The final score of the match was 3:5, and the series score was 2:4. "Loko" became the first finalist of the Kharlamov Cup.

      "Chaika" was the last team from the "Torpedo" system to finish the season and won bronze medals in the MHL championship for the third consecutive year. In the 2022/2023 season, the team won gold medals.
