On May 4, 2026, at 16:53, Society A criminal case has been initiated due to the death of a schoolgirl in Semyonov, Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported in his MAX channel by the head of the regional Ministry of Education, Mikhail Puchkov. Earlier, media reports indicated that the tragedy might have occurred against the backdrop of anxiety over an upcoming test. A few days before the incident, the girl told her parents that she was afraid of failing the exam. Minister Puchkov stated that he is personally monitoring the situation and has been in contact with the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office since day one. According to him, comprehensive checks are being conducted, and a psychological and psychiatric examination has been appointed.
"According to preliminary data, no pressure on the student regarding the English language exam has been confirmed," noted the head of the Ministry of Education.
Teachers describe the girl positively. They say she took failures in school calmly and tried to improve her poor grades. She had already taken the exam before without any remarks.
"I cannot disclose information about the progress of the investigation; the competent authorities will establish the real cause, but the girl may indeed have had serious concerns unrelated to her studies or tests," Puchkov said, adding that this fact is being verified.
The minister expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased and added that "no life is worth quarrels, anxieties over anything, and with anyone."
