Four patriotic projects from youth teams in the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Donetsk People's Republic became winners of the second season of the "Rodina" acceleration program, implemented by the House of National Unity with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Among the best patriotic projects are the "Safety Perimeter" festival from secondary school No. 16 (Dzerzhinsk), the "Patriotic Corner" of the Vazyanskaya secondary school named after Z. I. Afonina (Spassky district), the "Know the Heroes" marathon from secondary school No. 10 (Arzamas), and the historical and local history project "School of Heroes" from school No. 13 (Ilovaisk, DPR). Along with the winners, support in project implementation will also be provided to the initiative of the Sharan secondary school to create a book of memories of fellow countrymen whose childhood coincided with the Great Patriotic War — "Through the Years and Memory: Echo of Childhood." The non-profit organization Family Center "Lada" chose the patriotic project of students from the rural locality of Sharan for joint implementation of the idea.
Diplomas were awarded to the finalist teams and letters of gratitude to the mentoring teachers signed by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin, presented by the head of the House of National Unity Sergey Fyodorov. He congratulated the students and wished them success. "Over two years of work, the 'Rodina' program has become a point of attraction for active schoolchildren and students. During this time, the students proposed about 200 ideas for patriotic projects. I saw in these initiatives sincerity, courage, and the ability to speak about the Motherland from the heart. It is especially valuable that the program unites and brings together teenagers from different municipalities and regions, giving a powerful start for self-realization," emphasized Sergey Fyodorov.
The expert council of the program, which determined the best works, also included the head of the Family Center "Lada" Galina Smirnova, the deputy commander of the 34th brigade of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, Colonel Rafael Mustafaev, and the regional coordinator of the All-Russian project "Navigators of Childhood" Nikita Tarasov. "This year, the organizers took an important step — they successfully integrated an educational track for mentoring teachers. As a result, both schoolchildren and mentors significantly enhanced their competencies, and this year's projects became even brighter and stronger," said Nikita Tarasov.
The implementation of the winning projects will start in 2026 with organizational and methodological support from the House of National Unity and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
"We are glad that we won this year, and our festival will help schoolchildren act correctly in emergency situations. The 'Rodina' program taught us to work as a team, and most importantly — to properly describe the project," shared Valeria Ratse, a student of school No. 16 in Dzerzhinsk.
Let us remind you that the "Rodina" program is implemented by the House of National Unity in collaboration with the regional resource center for the implementation of the All-Russian project "Navigators of Childhood" in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This year, the program brought together more than 800 participants from 50 districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region and three cities of the Donetsk People's Republic — Khartsyzsk, Ilovaisk, and Mangush. Over two months, schoolchildren and college and technical school students learned the basics of social project design, participated in open dialogues with combat veterans and leaders of social movements.
