Municipal parks in Nizhny Novgorod will be closed for tick treatment.

      May 3, 2026 16:38 Society From May 4, scheduled tick treatment will begin in the municipal parks of Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev on his Max channel. According to him, acaricide measures will cover 10 public spaces with a total area of about 132 hectares. On May 4, the Avtozavodsky Park will be closed for visits until 17:00. On the same day, work will be carried out at the first and second park lakes. On May 5, treatment will take place in the parks named after May 1 and "Svetloyarsky." It will also last until 17:00. On May 6, activities will be conducted in the "Dubki" and Stankozavod parks, and on May 7 - in the park named after Ya.M. Sverdlov and in the recreation area "Shcholkovo Khutor." Similar activities are planned in the "Switzerland" park. The date of treatment will be specified additionally - information will be posted on the park's social media and the Directorate of Parks and Squares. The dates of acaricide activities may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. As Yuri Shalabaev noted, sanitary work is traditionally carried out to ensure the safety of residents and guests of the city. He urged people to refrain from visiting public spaces on treatment days and to exercise caution while closely monitoring children and pets. It was previously reported that since the beginning of the tick activity season, 322 people, including 97 children, have already sought medical attention in the region's healthcare facilities.
