In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the best educator of 2026 has been chosen.

      On April 29, the results of the regional stage of the All-Russian competition "Educator of the Year of Russia - 2026" were announced in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The winner was Irina Larina, an educator from the Berezovsky kindergarten No. 35 in the town of Arzamas. The competition in the region was held for the ninth time and aimed at implementing the tasks of the national project "Youth and Children." The organizers were the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Nizhny Novgorod Institute for the Development of Education. According to the ministry, more than 400 educators participated in the competition. In total, there are over 13,700 specialists working in the field of preschool education in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mikhail Puchkov, noted that at the initiative of the Minister of Education of Russia, Sergey Kravtsov, the year 2026 has been declared the Year of Preschool Education. He congratulated the winner of the regional stage and expressed confidence that the Nizhny Novgorod region would be well represented at the national level. The distance stage of the competition took place from March 2 to March 24, during which participants presented video introductions. From March 25 to April 16, three in-person rounds were held, during which contestants demonstrated their professional skills in working with children and their parents, as well as presented their own methodologies. The final test took place at School No. 188 in Nizhny Novgorod. As part of the "Blitz Tournament," participants demonstrated teamwork skills, and during the "Educational Sprint," they solved pedagogical cases. Irina Larina noted that the most interesting part of the competition for her was solving cases related to various professional situations. This year, a new nomination was established at the regional stage - the "Audience Choice Award," which was also awarded to Irina Larina. The final of the "Educator of the Year of Russia" competition will take place in September and will consist of two rounds. The first round includes tests "Pedagogical Event with Children" and "Educational Event with Parents." Fifteen laureates will advance to the second round, where they will participate in the "Professional Workshop" and "Blitz Tournament."

      The national project "Youth and Children" is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and includes nine federal projects and programs: "Russia - a Country of Opportunities," "We Are Together," "Russia in the World," "Everything for Children," "Leading Schools," "Teachers and Mentors," "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses," "Universities for the Generation of Leaders," and "Professionalism."
